Today is a sad day for feminist activism after hearing the news that Oksana Shachko, one of the founders of Femen, has been found dead in her flat in Paris and everything indicates that it is a suicide, ignoring, for the moment, other details of the event, beyond, apparently, could have left a note.

Activist, feminist and artist Ukrainian who, without a doubt, managed to make history in the movement with her protest actions, generally topless, fervently demonstrating against sex tourism, religious institutions, international marriage agencies, sexism and other national and international affairs.

In fact, one of the best known protests starring Oksana and Femen was the one for which they took a fair in Hannover, Germany, and being a few meters from Putin, the Russian president, you could read in his naked torsos the words "Fuk dictators."

We are not ashamed of our bodies. We are proud to be women, to be different from men. This is the greatest achievement we have achieved with Femen, we have placed women at the center of feminism

This and other phrases have been the ones that led Shachko to be widely recognized and to which now it's time to say goodbye.
